YUSURIKA

Following Tokyo Parrots and Colors, Yoshinori Mizutani ‘s eagerly awaited new series “YUSURIKA” is shot in Tokyo. Having grown up in a rural environment, Mizutani is always on a quest for nature in Tokyo. In his search, he discovered the “yusurika” captured in this new series, which turns nature seen in the city into a magical sight. 

「Tokyo Parrots」「Colors」に続く、東京を舞台にした新シリーズ。自然に囲まれて育った水谷吉法は、東京でも自然を求め、小さな虫「ユスリカ」に出会う。川や池などの淡水域に群れで棲みつき、ときに蚊柱をつくるユスリカを、ストロボの光によって白く反射し小さな光玉に変貌させることで、都会で目にする自然を幻想的な姿へと昇華させた。
